Places to go that are FREE to the public for fun and fitness.
Fitness Trail at Gayle Forsyth Park. 2/3-mile jogging and walking path with fitness stations at various intervals is located at the park. Set your own pace, any time, any day.
Fitness Trails are available at the College of Southern Idaho and also at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center.
Bike Path This 3 1/4-mile stretch of asphalt is open to the public for walking, jogging and biking. The path runs from the corner of 20th and Tiger Drive south to 100 south and west to South Lincoln. There is a restroom facility and strategically located benches.
A Bike Path is available for walking or riding along the rim of the Snake River Canyon on both sides of the Perrine Bridge. Along with exercise, you get spectacular views of the canyon.
The following are programs being provided free of charge by businesses and organizations in our community. Our thanks for their concern and caring attitude towards the citizens of Jerome County.
Jerome Recreation Center offers its gym from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday through Friday, for those interested in walking in a warm and safe environment
Over 60 and Getting Fit, the CSI award-winning program that promotes walking, flexibility and strength training for the mature adult. Registration is accepted throughout the season. 9:00-10:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Taught by Jan Mittleider. Jan also leads a group each week at the College of Southern Idaho.
Wal-Mart Store, South Lincoln, Jerome: Walk around the store or parking lot at your own pace. Mornings are usually best, as it gets busy later in the day. Bingo on Wednesday mornings at 8:00 in the cafeteria.
Swimming/water exercise at Sawtooth Inn-Best Western, Monday through Friday before 11:00. A physician's prescription is required to attend. There is no structured program and no lifeguard on duty. You may bring a companion, but children and rowdy guests are not permitted.
The Magic Valley Mall in Twin Falls is a popular place to walk.
